About
Victor Surbrook is a Philadelphia-based painter originally from Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2025 with a BFA. He is now continuing his studies while moving into a professional career, having exhibited throughout the Philadelphia and Delaware area.
Surbrook paints from a mixture of observation and imagination, representing a scene through the lens of memory or dreams. His current interests lie in pastoral landscape, interior domestic spaces, and nude figuration, combining these elements to heighten a sense of intimacy and closeness. Surbrook’s work relies on the simple, inherent beauty of the everyday, his images calling the viewer to more closely consider the scenes we often overlook— whether that be in the natural world, the self, or the spaces we inhabit.
